“How should you love God? Love Him as the miser loves money; as the drowning man yearns for breath; as the desert wanderer craves water. Love Him with the first love of true lovers.… Union with the Cosmic Beloved is the most enjoyable experience possible. It is dream after dream, joy after joy; a thousand million divine romances in one, ever thrilling your heart… As often as you think you have exhausted His love, again and again, like a rolling surf, it crashes anew upon the shores of your mind. That is ecstasy!”
— Swami Kriyananda, The Essence of Self-Realization, Ch. 17

Painting by Nayaswami Jyotish: ” The Depthless Sea”

Swami Kriyananda is quoting Paramhansa Yogananda in this beautiful quote. The Masters through the ages unanimously agree that when the soul unites with God the experience is one of overwhelming love and bliss. Regardless of the religion, culture or language of the person these words are constantly used to describe the state of union with God.

The flow of God’s love is constant, around us and within us, connecting everything and everyone. God’s love is unconditional, without prejudice or favouritism. God’s love flows to all equally.

Master tells us that we experience love because of the love of God within us.

Painting by Nayaswami Jyotish: “We are Thine IK”

From John 4:8 in the Bible we hear, “He that loves not does not know God. For God is love.” The message here is that to know God’s love ourselves; we must be the channels for God’s love in the world. God is spirit and consciousness, he does not have hands and feet, he must work through channels. Can we willingly allow ourselves to be used as his instruments, so that his unconditional love is given to the world? This invitation will not be enforced; our free will is essential, we must accept this extraordinary request willingly.

What is unconditional love? Make a list, I’m sure it will include friendship, altruism, empathy, humanity, compassion, tolerance, patience, kindness and much more, and these are to be given to all, all people, all creatures. No one is excluded from God’s love, no one. The annoying relative, the pushy friend, the controlling boss, the person who looks, believes, thinks, or behaves differently from us. No one is excluded.

Looking around at the word today one can see what is desperately needed, from our own lives, to worldwide events unfolding daily, the world needs God, the world needs God’s unconditional love, the world needs willing instruments to channel God’s love into every corner of every heart, family, race and nation. Pray that God may find those willing instruments, and choose to be one yourself, to bring his great healing love to our world.

Thank you God for everything.
