Return to the Earth, Return to the Land - In Dialogue with Dr Vandana Shiva

According to the UN, EESC, OECD the long term social and economic impact of the COVID-19 crisis will be profound. Compounding the global instability is the prediction of further difficulties this fall.

Paramhansa Yogananda, who forecast this unprecedented global event in the 1940s urged the population to go back to the land. He said, “Take the best advice I can give you and you will be spared much grief.”

In the EESC’s own words, “the recovery will only be successful if it is accompanied by the restructuring of our society.”

One way that global societies will be protected from the coming emergency is if land-use laws become more accomodating and there are government incentives that help large portions of the population, (who want to) transition from consumerism and capitalism back to land-based communities.
